Privacy Policy

We built Rates Info to need as little data as possible. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what is processed, why, who handles it and what choices you have.

Effective 10 October 2026Applies to the Android app and this website

The short version

  • No account, name, email, phone number or password is needed to use the app.
  • Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your advertising ID. You choose whether ads are personalised and can reset the ID at any time. We never sell your personal information.
  • Settings and saved data stay on your device. Lottery numbers you type or scan are checked on your device.
  • If you allow notifications, our push provider (OneSignal) receives a device identifier so it can deliver them. This is optional.
  • You can clear everything at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling.

What the app processes

  • Standard request data (IP address, time, device type) when it downloads rates and results
  • An optional push-notification identifier and basic device/app details
  • Advertising ID and device and network data, used by Google AdMob to show, measure and secure ads
  • Your preferences and cached data, stored on your device
  • Camera frames, only while scanning a QR code, processed on your device

What we never collect

  • Name, email, phone number or any account details
  • Precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs or calendar
  • Photos or files from your device (the app can only save images you choose to download)
  • Health data, financial or payment information, passwords

1. Who we are and scope

Rates Info (the "app") is published by Akkayar Codex ("we", "us", "our"), who is the data controller for the processing described here. This policy covers the app and the website at https://akkayar.com (the "site"). It does not cover third-party sites or services that the app or site may link to.

By installing or using the app you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.

2. Information we process

The table below lists every category of information involved, where it comes from, why we need it and the legal basis we rely on where privacy law requires one (for example under the GDPR).

InformationSource and examplesPurposeLegal basis
Request dataSent automatically when the app or site loads data: IP address, date and time, requested resource, app version, device type and operating system.Deliver rates, gold prices and results; keep the service secure and reliable; prevent abuse.Legitimate interests (running and securing the service); performance of the service you requested.
Notification identifiersOnly if you allow notifications: a push subscription ID, plus basic device and app details such as device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone and country.Deliver the notifications you allowed.Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Android settings.
Advertising dataCollected by Google AdMob when ads load: advertising ID, IP address, device and network details, approximate location derived from IP address, ad interactions and diagnostics.Show ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance, prevent fraud and, if you allow it, personalise ads.Your consent where required (EEA, UK, Switzerland and similar); otherwise legitimate interests in funding the app.
Support messagesIf you email us: your email address and the content of your message.Reply to you and resolve your request.Legitimate interests; steps at your request.
Font deliveryThe app may download fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address like any web request.Display text correctly.Legitimate interests.

We do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not make automated decisions that affect you. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves. Ad personalisation is carried out by Google, only as you permit. See our Advertising Policy.

3. Information stored only on your device

To work quickly and offline, the app keeps the following on your device and nowhere else: your language and theme choice, your favourite currencies, and the latest rates, gold prices and lottery results it downloaded. Numbers you type into calculators or the lottery search box, and QR codes you scan, are processed on your device and are not sent to us. You can remove all of this by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

4. Permissions the app may request

PermissionWhy it is usedRequired?
Internet and network stateDownload current data and detect when you are offline.Required
Advertising IDLets Google AdMob measure ads and, if you allow it, personalise them. You can reset or delete the ID, or opt out of personalisation, in Android settings.Optional
NotificationsDeliver short update notifications.Optional
CameraScan the QR code on a lottery ticket. Frames are processed live on your device and are never stored or uploaded.Optional
Save to photosSave a rates or results image that you choose to download. The app writes the image; it does not read your gallery. Sharing uses Android's share sheet and you decide where the image goes.Optional

You can change or withdraw any permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Rates Info → Permissions. The core features keep working without the optional ones.

5. Third-party service providers

We use a small number of providers, under their own privacy terms. Cloudflare and OneSignal process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own advertising. Google AdMob provides the ads and, for advertising, may act as an independent controller.

The rates and results themselves come from public data sources listed on our Data Sources page. Your device does not send personal information to those sources.

6. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain and improve the app's features, accuracy and performance.
  • To deliver notifications that you have allowed.
  • To show ads, measure them and prevent ad fraud through Google AdMob, which keeps the app free.
  • To protect the service, our users and our providers against fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • To answer support requests and to meet legal obligations.

7. Sharing, disclosure and sale

We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. We disclose information only:

  • to the service providers listed in section 5, who process it for us;
  • when the law, a court order or a valid legal request requires it;
  • to protect the rights, safety and security of users, the public or ourselves; and
  • in a merger, acquisition or sale of the app, where this policy would continue to apply to your information.

Advertising. To show ads, Google AdMob receives the advertising data described in section 2 directly from your device. In some regions, including certain US states, sharing an advertising ID for personalised ads may count as a "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can stop this by choosing non-personalised ads, declining consent, or opting out as described in section 12. We do not give advertisers the things you do inside the app, such as your favourite currencies or calculator entries.

8. Retention

InformationHow long it is kept
On-device settings and cacheUntil you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Request and security logsOnly as long as needed for security and reliability, under our hosting provider's retention schedule. We do not build user profiles from them.
Notification identifiersUntil the subscription becomes inactive (for example after you disable notifications or uninstall the app) or you ask us to delete it, subject to our provider's retention schedule.
Advertising dataHeld by Google under its own retention schedule. We do not receive it about you and do not control how long it is kept. Resetting your advertising ID breaks the link to earlier data.
Support emailsAs long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping.

9. Security

Data between the app and our servers is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections, and our website sets strict security headers and loads no third-party scripts. We limit the data we handle to reduce risk. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal-data breach affecting you occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

10. International data transfers

Our providers operate globally, so information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries whose data-protection laws differ from yours. Where required, we rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and the providers' certified frameworks.

11. Children

Rates Info is a general-audience information tool. It is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country (up to 16 in some places), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. We do not knowingly show personalised ads to children, and ads are not targeted at them. The app contains lottery-result information that is intended for adults only.

12. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, Thailand or other regions with privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct inaccurate information and have incomplete information completed;
  • delete your information ("right to be forgotten");
  • restrict or object to our processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing (for example, turn off notifications);
  • receive your information in a portable format; and
  • not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

How to exercise them

Email support@akkayar.com with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you would like. We respond within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires, and may extend that period where permitted for complex requests. Because the app has no accounts, we may need a little information (such as your device model and approximate install date) to find a notification identifier; we will not ask for more than is needed and may decline a request we cannot verify. You can also act directly: clear app data, uninstall, or turn off notifications in Android settings.

Your advertising choices

  • Accept, decline or change your ad-consent choice in the consent message and in the privacy options in the app's Settings, where shown.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • Manage personalisation for your Google account at myadcenter.google.com.
  • More detail is in our Advertising Policy.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

13. Website, cookies and tracking

This site does not use cookies, advertising or analytics trackers, and does not run third-party scripts. Our hosting provider processes standard request data (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site. Because we do not track you across sites, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals do not change how the site behaves.

14. Google Play Data safety summary

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, our providers or the law change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. For material changes, such as collecting new categories of data, we will give prominent notice in the app or on Google Play before the change applies, and ask for consent where required.
